Danish chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt has just created the world’s most expensive chocolate—its name going down in the Guinness Book of World Records. Coming from Brooklyn’s Chocolate Room, this hand crafted chocolate named La Madeline au Truffe costs $2600 per pound and it nestles within itself a rare French Perigord truffle— embedded in a ganache of heavy cream, sugar, truffle oil and vanilla coated in 70% Valrhona dark chocolate and then delicately rolled in fine cocoa powder. Each piece of the chocolate is perfectly brought forth on a bed of faux pearls in a silver box tied with a bow. Now that is one sweet treasure.
